Providing CNC networking and DNC software solutions to manufacturers and machine shops. Recognized as #1 Distributor and Center for Predator Software since 1999!Remote Request allows the operators on the shop floor to send, receive and drip feed CNC programs directly from their CNC controls. By modifying a small program at the control, the operator can control Predator DNC to perform printing, emailing, file download, or file upload operations. A complete set of status and error messages enables the machine operator to request NC programs without leaving the machine control.
Remote Request program on CNC control:
% 07777 N10 (PREDATOR REMOTE REQUEST) N20 (LOAD 1234.NC) N30 M30 %
Machine operator modifies the 1234.NC on line N20 to the program needed (example - 5678.NC) This file is then "punched", or sent out, to Predator. Predator keys off of the LOAD command in the file and triggers the appropriate command within Predator. The LOAD command in Predator will find and send 5678.NC according to the commands instructions.
The Operator presses "READ" on the machine control and receives either the requested file or a status message, such as "File Not Found".
If changes to 5678.NC are made at the control, the file can be punched back to Predator and Predator will save the changes and name the file according to stated customer requirements.
A key component of enabling remote functionality from the CNC machine, Remote Autoname enables simple file naming using information in the NC code programs. Predator Software will automatically name uploaded files using such things as the part program O number, the first comment, e.g. (ABC12345.12), or any other identifiable string chosen.
With the flexibility of Predator Software, you may decide the first comment doesn't work for you programs, but you already have part numbers in every program using (P/N ABC12345.12). No problem. Remote Autoname can be configured to key on any string you want and is smart enough to know what you really want the file to be called. No more naming files with cryptic names when saving back from CNC machine.
If you want to ensure that the latest part programs are being run, then Remote Download Verify is for you. Remote Download Verify will check specified directories to make sure newer part programs do not exist. If a newer program is found, the CNC operator is alerted via a Remote Message and the program is not sent. Programming can then verify the files, and decide which file is the correct file to send. No more scrapped parts because a programmed changed and the correct program was not moved to the correct directory.
Now your CNC operators can pull up a list of files remotely from the CNC machine. Trying to remember which files are available for download is a thing of the past. You will save time by looking at the files available on the CNC machine instead of walking to the nearest computer and having to write down which files you want to download. You can now pull all the information from the CNC machine, and have it instantly available.
Predator File Management provides an error free interface for performing file operations. Moving verified files from the upload directory into the download directory is now a one click process. File operations can be also be automated. Instead of manually saving a previous revision of a part program, renaming the file, and then moving the new file to the right directory, you just have to drag a file to the "Move" command. All the background work will happen automatically. With no skipped steps. And no errors.
The best part about Remote Autoname, Remote Download Verify, Remote Directory, and File Management is that they are all built in features to both Predator DNC and Predator Desktop. There are no upgrade prices to pay, no hidden costs. Just one more way Predator Software helps you save money and time on your shop floor. http://dev.shopfloorautomations.com/traveler_brochures.php Brochures
