Wireless DNC Offers Big Benefits on the Shop Floor
LA MESA, Calif. — April 22, 2009 — A wireless network provides convenience, flexibility and affordability to a shop floor of any size. Shop Floor Automations, the leading distributor and supplier of Predator Software, uses wireless DNC to provide these benefits.
A wireless environment offers great savings - there are no cables to purchase and no labor costs for stringing cable. There is no added cost for going wireless and just about any CNC machine can be connected to wireless DNC.
Wireless DNC networks one to 250 machines in a secure, 128 bit encryption environment and can connect CNCs with RS232 ports or Ethernet connections. Modern PC-based machines, such as the Fanuc I series controls, are standardizing on this new connection to leverage high speed communication and take advantage of the ability to store the NC program on the CNC hard drive. Shop Floor Automations provides a serial and Ethernet based solution to connect any type controller to allow for better management and control of NC programs while still providing a seamless software and hardware solution.
Wireless DNC provides a shop floor with added flexibility to move machines without reconfiguring software or cable layout - this is particularly beneficial when using machines with overhead cranes, traveling gantries and those too far to cable quickly and efficiently.
